This is an opportunity to contribute significantly to learning and teaching across UK Higher Education.
The Higher Education Academy supports the sector in providing the highest quality learning experience for students. It leads a number of national schemes – including teaching fellowships - and contributes to a range of relevant policy developments.
A new Chief Executive is sought to succeed Professor Paul Ramsden who retired from the post in December. The appointee will provide strong leadership, working with the Board to develop strategy and ensure its delivery, and will foster an effective performance culture throughout all areas of the Academy. The need for excellent external representation to a range of stakeholders including government, the funding bodies and universities and colleges is critical; the appointee should see the Academy as a vibrant agent for positive change across the sector. Ideal candidates will have significant experience of teaching and learning in a higher education environment, although applications from individuals who have an outstanding track record in other areas will be welcomed. Evidence of successfully leading and delivering change in complex institutional environments will be key, as will the ability to communicate persuasively to a wide range of audiences. The appointee will display outstanding commitment to the development of the student experience, and will bring an infectious enthusiasm to their work.
