Description
Ten HEIs have successfully bid to take part in our new programme that will help them to resolve key issues affecting the quality of the student learning experience.
In the Evidence-informed quality improvement programme (EQUIP), a specialist Academy team will look at a specific aspect of the student learning experience, chosen by the successful HEI, and work with their team to improve institutional policy and practice in that area.
A key aspect of the programme will be using relevant institutional evidence as a starting point. This might include data generated by the HEI such as external examiner reports and internal surveys, and external data such as Academy surveys, the National Student Survey, and QAA institutional audits.
Sean Mackney, Deputy Chief Executive of the Higher Education Academy, said: “The Academy is ideally placed to offer this programme. We work across the whole sector, providing a detailed overview of the student learning experience. We can access data and expertise through partnerships with key sector agencies, and we have in-house expertise on a wide range of learning and teaching issues as well as expertise in organisational development and leading change.”
UK HEIs are currently facing huge challenges – reduction in and changes to funding models, global competition, and the need to engage with an increasingly diverse body of learners. At the same time they must continue to ensure that quality and standards are maintained, niche markets are developed and the student learning experience is improved. EQUIP will help institutions with all of these challenges.
