Becoming a Reviewer

Academy reviewers make a critical contribution to our work. We draw on the knowledge and expertise of a range of peer reviewers across the academic community. We highly value this crucial and important contribution in a number of areas of our work. Peer reviewing offers reviewers interesting professional development and an insight into work being undertaken across the sector.

What do reviewers do?

Reviewers assess applications and bids in a variety of areas on a voluntary basis and provide detailed feedback which is used by advisory panels and selection committees.

When do we use reviewers?

There are different reviews carried throughout the year in line with the cycle of application deadlines. There are also occasions on an ad hoc basis when reviewers are needed, for example for research project in specialist areas including employability and widening participation.
